Gel batteries are delivered precharged and ready to use. It is still preferable to charge it initially to improve longevity.
To commission the batteries with acid, simply fill the battery with the supplied acid and charge the battery to prolong its life.

Conventional batteries
Maintenance-required acid batteries come with a pre-measured sulfuric acid pack.
Caution: Sulfuric acid can cause burns that can be very serious. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
Charge the battery for the first time in order to extend the battery life. For maintenance, check that the acid level is always between the lower and upper limits of the battery. If the acid level is too low, add distilled water to the top level and charge the battery.
